A thrilling Friday evening was had by all children, parents, guardians, coaches and supporters at our final U1o outdoor training session to finish off the 2021 season. There were smiles and laughter all around the field. Our very own Army Sgt, Charlie O'Hagan set up a challenging mini obstacle course with plank walks, tyre jumping, crawling net, rope maze, cone hopping, hurdles and rope crawls and a sack race to finish off the course. All the boys, girls and coaches got involved in taking on the course.
There was a Tug of War game which also saw many thrills and spills, slips and falls by everyone who took part.
The highlight of the evening had to be the opportunity given to the boys and girls to "Soak the Coach". The boys and girls were never going to say no when given the chance to soak their coaches and they were sure to hit the target with some fantastic accuracy. It didn't take the them long to figure out the quickest way to soak the coaches by lifting the full buckets and leaving the sponges behind.
All children were presented with a medal and party bag in recognition of their hard work and dedication to attending training sessions week in week out and for the huge improvements seen by all throughout the season at the seven rounds of regional blitz games.
Roche Emmets Senior mens player & U10 Coach, Shane Byrne and former Roche Senior Ladies Star and Roche Emmets GAA All Stars Coordinator, Olivia Wall (Grant) presented the medals to our U10 players.
As we close the season for the U10 group, a big thank you must go to all the parents, guardians and supporters for encouraging and enabling the children to attend training sessions and regional blitz games throughout the season. And of course a massive thank you to all our U10 coaches throughout the season for their dedication and enthusiasm - Aoife Ward, Charlie O'Hagan, Shane Byrne, Adrian Lagan and Kenny Sullivan.
Roll on the 2022 season for what will hopefully be another fantastic year with these great bunch of talented kids and undoubtedly, some future Roche Emmets stars.
