Clan na Gael vs Roche Emmets
The U11 boys stretched their unblemished 2021 record with a victory away to Clan na Gael on Saturday afternoon.
In what was their toughest fixture yet, the lads hit the hosts with an early goal blitz and when chipping over some nice points in the lead up to the interval, were greeted by a very happy management at half-time.
The second period was a much closer affair, yet Roche remained prolific and some excellent interchange play produced further fine scores.
Gerry Kirk and Peter McArdle were on song in front of the posts, with Conall Whyte, JJ McArdle, Lorcan McArdle and Conor Douglas highly influential within several sequences of flowing play.
Eoin Kilkenny, Hayden Keenan, Rory Sheridan and Zachariah Connolly, on debut, each had a hand in registers, with Harry Treacy and James Curtis the driving forces as Roche took regular surges up the pitch.
But special mention must go to both Ferdia McEvoy and Dermot Gernon, whose defending and bravery in getting blocks and tackles in did not go unnoticed.
